Ms. Arrington

Hello, my name is Marie Annette Arrington. I received a B.A. from Randolph-Macon Women’s College (2009) and a Master’s of Art in Teaching degree from Randolph College (2010).  I was awarded the 2009-2010 Virginia Scholars Award by the IOTA State Organization of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

Earth Science

We will use a hands-on approach to explore several different areas of Earth science including geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy. Focus will be placed on the Scientific Method, data collection, use of laboratory equipment, and verbal expression of data. 

Biology I—the study of life

We will use the hands-on approach to learning, beginning with atoms (the building blocks of life), and moving up the ladder with the study of cells, mitosis and meiosis, DNA and RNA, genetics, ecosystems, and medical research. Focus will be placed on the Scientific Method, data collection, use of laboratory equipment, and the verbal expression of data. 

Biology II—Environmental Studies

We will use the hands-on approach to explore how humans interact with the natural world. We will investigate different areas of science, including geology, meteorology, chemistry, biology, oceanography, and ecology. Focus will be placed on the Scientific Method, data collection, use of laboratory equipment, and the verbal expression of data.
